LINER NOTES FROM "BLACKTRON METAL":

"On this dark December day in 2021 a message on social media drew my attention. It said: happy 40th birthday "Welcome to Hell". Wow, 1981! Has it been this long since Venom's infamous debut album?! My God! My Satan!! Whether this particular record was the start of the first true black metal band is disputable. In 1984 early Hellhammer/Celtic Frost was probably more accurate in defining the ultimate sound for BM, but no one can disagree with the fact that Venom had a tremendous impact on this beloved genre. One year later they even pinned the term 'Black Metal' with their subsequent album! So all credits for the name go to them of course!

A few days after reading this post, my creativity kept haunting me. Being a true metal fan for nearly 40 years and counting, I just felt I had to do something in honour of '40 years of Black Metal'. And pay my respects to all the legendary BM bands and its underground scene that had given me so much inspiration and joy over the years. The only thing is, I don't play metal music with Murmur Of Monks. But who cares? I immediately rushed into my home studio and wrote, recorded and programmed this black metal inspired song in merely one day. Raw and spontaneously, the way black metal is meant to be. Blasting out primal aggressions, without thinking too much about technical perfection.

I baptized my song "Blacktron Metal", obviously referring to the Blacktron music genre I create with MOM. Anyone familiar with my sound knows I use only electronics, no real live instruments, so it was quite a challenge to find some VST's that would create a kinda 'black metal' vibe to me. But hey, would Swedish death metal ever be invented without the Boss HM-2 pedal? From time to time we all need some help from today's technology and the end result was a song without any conventional (black metal) guitars nor black metal samples, but still with that old school BM vibe to it. Or is it in the arrangements and the atmosphere of the track? Hard to say, because music is mostly about feeling. And black metal even more so than any other genre...

So despite the MOM discography going in all musical directions, I still feel the same metal guy as I have always been. In fact, when I'm confronted with goths and electro fans (most of my MOM following), I always feel somewhat 'out of place'. So perhaps my quest is to spread some heresy in the world of electronics and keep true to the blackest kind of metal that has never failed to inspire me as an artist. So may we all be sworn to the blacktron!!! Keep trve and horns up everyone!!!"
